What
are the needful things for which we seek?
Are
needful things those things we must possess?
Do
we toil at our jobs from week to week
To
buy the things that give us happiness?
For
many things there are that catch our eye;
That
have the pow’r to give us earthly joy.
All
kinds of things with money we may buy,
Big
homes and cars and fancy clothes and toys.
Yet
things our wealth will buy will turn to rust.
These
things cannot impart true happiness.
When
all is said and done and we are dust
It’s
other things by which our lives were blessed.
It’s
things we do for love, not things we buy,
That
truly give us peace and satisfy.
